Farm to table lunch, classes and a garden in back

The 4th Annual Farm to Table lunch and Silent Auction hosted by Ideal Green Market Cooperative (IGMC) is Saturday, November 10, 11am-1pm at the Old Milwaukee Club located at County Road 16 and County Road 39 in Ideal Township (Pequot Lakes).  The menu features local goods including pork loin from Fox Farm Pork of Browerville, butternut squash from a co-op member gardener, sweet and sour red cabbage from Ideal Gardens, and apple bread pudding with apples from Red Barn Apple Orchard in Jenkins.

Anyone need egg cartons?

We have lots in back - just ask. We recycle the ones for Yellow Rose Organics, and the other cartons you bring in are available to those of you who have chickens and need the cartons, or if you know of someone who could use them, come and get 'em. Otherwise, we'll recycle them as we cannot keep storing them.

Talking recycling - we could use some bags for customers to have access to for those willing to re-use bags. Paper or plastic is fine, just ones with no holes, and good for bagging groceries, of course. Thank you in advance.

The Co-op's Mission continues

A group of volunteers is already working to design and prep a backyard co-op / community garden. Pictured here are two of those volunteers, Sandi Baker and Geoff Davidge. We'll start with 24x24 space with raised beds for herbs, pumpkins and a few other things and design it as a "teaching" garden that will also aid the co-op with some of those fresh herbs that are so challenging to stock. We'll be seeking funds for this project via grants and donations so watch for more info as it all develops. SUCH FUN GROWING AND LEARNING TOGETHER!
